You'll live on-site at our school, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in our local culture while sharing your English skills and taking Spanish classes. Note on Participation: This is a comprehensive package. To maintain our support for the local community and our educational standards, the program fee is mandatory for all participants. This cost covers the English teaching placement, professional orientation, Spanish course and Palace residency in a shared room regardless of the participant's elective Spanish level.

At Teach Buenos Aires, we empower vulnerable communities through English education. We believe learning English is a powerful tool for personal and professional growth, opening doors to new opportunities.
Our dedicated volunteers are at the heart of our mission. In the afternoons, they teach English classes across various English language schools in Buenos Aires, becoming mentors who build student confidence and skills. In the mornings, volunteers have the opportunity to learn Spanish.
We're a legally recognized, responsible foundation that treats volunteers with respect and care. Join our community for a meaningful impact. Student programs run early February through mid-December for the full experience.

WHAT WE OFFER
This program in Buenos Aires offers a unique opportunity for native English speakers to teach English for 15 hours/week while learning Spanish through 20 hours/week of classes and accommodations in the heart of Buenos Aires. Led by female educators from Buenos Aires and UK universities, the experience includes on-site shared accommodation at a historic Palace in downtown Buenos Aires, San Telmo area. Participants will engage in dynamic lesson delivery, tutoring, after-school activities, and curriculum development. This program is ideal for those seeking a meaningful international teaching experience, and a chance to immerse themselves in Buenos Aires's rich culture, with practical English teaching application, including those without prior experience. The program runs for a flexible 8 to 16-week duration from early February to early November, requiring a background check and medical certificate for all participants.
A Day in the Life: Teaching English in Buenos Aires
Wake up in your accommodations, the stunning Palacio Piedras, a vintage French-style mansion turned guesthouse in the heart of Buenos Aires. The palace is not just your home; it's also your classroom, making your daily routine incredibly convenient. Each morning, you'll join a small group for engaging Spanish lessons right here. Led by experienced local instructors, these classes prepare you for life in Argentina, helping you navigate the city and connect with your students and with local people. After a quick lunch, the focus shifts to teaching. Some English classes are held onsite, while others take you to language schools across the city, providing a chance to explore different neighborhoods and meet new people. After a rewarding day of teaching, you'll return to the palace, which serves as a hub where you can relax, share stories with fellow participants from around the globe, and immerse yourself in the rich culture of Buenos Aires right outside your front door. It’s the perfect blend of learning, working, and living in one of the world's most exciting cities.

Candidate Eligibility & Requirements
We seek committed, responsible, and culturally curious individuals who meet the following standards:
- Linguistic Proficiency: Exclusive to native English speakers to maintain pedagogical consistency.
- Professional Certification: A TEFL, CELTA, or teaching degree is preferred. We also welcome applicants currently enrolled in a TEFL certification program.
- Commitment: A minimum residency of 8 weeks is required to ensure a stable learning environment for our students.
- Age & Legal Status: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age (no maximum age limit) and possess the ability to enter Argentina on a valid tourist visa.
- Essential Equipment: All participants must possess a personal laptop for lesson planning and administrative coordination.
- Mandatory Vetting & Compliance
- To ensure the safety of our partner families and vulnerable communities, the following are non-negotiable:
- Background Checks: A comprehensive criminal background check is mandatory for all participants.
- Health Statement: A doctor’s note confirming optimal health for intensive participation is required.
- Arrival Protocol: Successful candidates must be available to start on a weekday morning, with mandatory check-in on Mondays between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM.
Code of Professional Conduct
As a representative of our foundation, you are expected to uphold a high standard of professional ethics:
Attendance & Punctuality: We treat our teaching placements with the same seriousness as a corporate or academic career. Consistent attendance is mandatory to maintain your placement.
Professionalism: Courtesy toward local staff, respect for Argentine culture, and prompt responses to administrative requests are essential.
Cultural Immersion: A proactive willingness to learn Spanish and engage meaningfully with the local community is a core expectation of the program.
Right of Admission: To protect the integrity of the program and the safety of our students, the foundation reserves the right of admission and the right to dismiss any participant who fails to meet our conduct standards.
Program Schedule & Holidays
Operating Season: Programs run from early February through mid-December.
National Holidays: We observe all Argentine national holidays. On these dates, teaching is suspended, and no refunds or rescheduling are provided. However, participants will be provided with asynchronous Spanish learning materials to ensure continued progress.
