Teach Buenos Aires Program: Important Information

Our program is an immersive experience designed for native English speakers to teach English for 15 hours per week while engaging in 20 hours of intensive, university-level Spanish language study per week. Participants are required to commit to a minimum of 8 weeks.

Program Overview and Commitment

Our program offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable teaching experience and achieve Spanish fluency within Buenos Aires' vibrant cultural landscape. The Spanish curriculum utilizes comprehensive textbooks and includes regular examinations to ensure robust linguistic development. Your participation directly contributes to providing better job opportunities for the local community through English education.

Financial Details

Placement & Coordination Fee: A one-time, non-refundable fee of $100 USD is required. This covers the essential administrative work of coordinating volunteer schedules and liaising with our partner English language schools and community centers.

Spanish Program Payments:

All payments for the Spanish program are non-refundable.

In cases of documented, serious unexpected reasons requiring a participant's return home, a credit for the unused portion of Spanish lessons will be issued. This credit is valid for one year and can be used to complete classes upon returning to Buenos Aires. No cash refunds will be provided.

Total Price: $1,800 USD ($225 USD/week)

Option 2: 12-Week Group Spanish Course

Duration: 12 Weeks (20 hours/week)

Total Price: $2,700 USD ($225 USD/week)

Option 3: 16-Week Group Spanish Course

Duration: 16 Weeks (20 hours/week)

Total Price: $3,600 USD ($225 USD/week)

Key Policies

Code of Conduct & Community Respect: Participants must interact with courtesy, respect local culture, and refrain from any form of defamation. Disruptive behavior or being under the influence in class is strictly prohibited.

Attendance & Punctuality: Consistent attendance is crucial. Excessive unexcused absences or tardiness may result in forfeited teaching time.

National Holidays: We observe all Argentine national holidays. No teaching will occur on these days, and no refunds or rescheduling will be provided. Asynchronous Spanish learning activities may be offered.

Accommodations: Shared accommodations in downtown Buenos Aires, typically with two other same-gender volunteers, are provided in exchange for teaching. Private rooms are not included but can be arranged for an additional fee.

Background Check: A mandatory background check is required for all participants to ensure the safety and trust of our partner Argentine families and children.

Health Requirement: A health statement or doctor's note confirming optimal health is required to ensure full participation in the intensive program.

General Policies: We reserve the right of admission to maintain our program's standards.
