Your volunteer experience will involve a blend of in-person and online teaching, offering a dynamic and impactful way to contribute.
You'll be teaching both children and adults, providing English classes and workshops designed to be engaging and effective. For younger learners, we emphasize learning through play, incorporating child-friendly games and activities to ensure an enjoyable and interactive experience.
Where You'll Be Teaching:
- Language Schools: You'll primarily teach at two language school locations. Some commute throughout the week is necessary, meaning you'll travel to one school once or twice per week. The other language school is conveniently located near your onsite Spanish school and accommodation, making for an easy commute and some other classes will also be held at your Spanish school as well.
- Online Classes: To provide flexibility and broader reach, a portion of your teaching will be conducted through online classes.
- Community Centers & Schools: You'll also have opportunities to lead volunteer conversational workshops at local community centers and schools. These involve helping with after-school programs, providing English tutoring, or assisting with social outreach initiatives, allowing for direct and meaningful interaction with students.
Cultural & Language Exchange:

Teach Buenos Aires offers native or fluent English speakers (ages 21-40) a unique cultural exchange opportunity to assist and teach English in Buenos Aires. Our mission is to provide free or subsidized English classes to individuals and children from low-income families, bridging educational gaps and enhancing future opportunities.
You'll contribute 15 hours per week, assisting experienced local teachers and leading your own conversational workshops and classes, both in-person and online. This takes place at our small language school in downtown Buenos Aires and in partnering small schools and safe community centers in the city and surrounding province, directly impacting children from underserved backgrounds.
In exchange for your dedication, you'll receive excellent, spacious shared accommodation (with only two others) in a charming spacious house in downtown Buenos Aires. This prime location offers a convenient base for exploring the city.
While the primary focus is on English teaching and English teaching assistance, you'll have the opportunity to take 20 hours of Spanish classes per week (Monday-Friday) to enhance your cultural immersion. Please note that these Spanish classes require a separate payment to cover teacher salaries.
A minimum commitment of 8 weeks is required, along with a teaching degree or TEFL, CELTA,(even in progress), ability to enter Argentina on a tourist visa, and a laptop. You'll gain valuable international teaching experience, immerse yourself in Argentine culture, and make a significant local impact by empowering students with vital English skills.
